Roof Cleaning

Have areas of your roof developed ugly, dark streaks or become dark in color? If so, you are not alone. Roof staining is caused by algae growing on your roofing shingles. This algae is abundant in warm and humid climates, and our climate is extremely favorable for their growth. This algae is actually a strain of bacteria known as Gloeocapsa Magma, and tends to grow on areas of your roof that are shaded by trees or get less sunlight, typically the north and west sides of your home.

 

We only use chemicals approved by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA). Once applied, our roof cleaning solution will remove the darkest roof stains, moss, lichen, etc. leaving your roof looking like new.

We at Clear Choice use a non-pressure process to apply our roof cleaning solution. We use no more water pressure than what typically comes from your water hose. A pressure washer should never be used to clean your roof. The high pressured stream of water produced by a pressure washer will dislodge large quantities of the protective granules covering your shingles and leave your shingles vulnerable to the elements. This will lead to early roof failure and void any warranty that you may have on your shingles.
